Hockey

Hockey was one of the founding sub-sections at PHSOB and dates back to 1952. The club has a rich history with several national players applying their trade at the club. The hockey section is based at the main club at Hofmeyer Park, 378 Queens Crescent, Lynwood however practices and home matches are played at Pretoria Boys High School’s “Astro on the Hill”.

The club had 9 teams (5 men and 4 ladies) in the NBHA league in 2024, with the men’s 1^st team winning the Premier League. There are also two men teams that play in the Master’s League.

“Hockey on the Hill” for junior players is hosted at the “Astro on the Hill” at PBHS on a Friday and is a great way for young players to have fun with friends and other players and spend time working on individual skills.

While the club has a strong link to PBHS we welcome scholars from all schools in the surrounding area with a focus on men, ladies and youth.

We cater for high performance players who aim to play provincial and nationally as well as social players who want to stay active and have fun while doing so.
